Microsoft Paint Is on Its Way Out and Twitter Is Sad: ‘Rip My Childhood’

Microsoft Paint is on its deathbed, and it’s now appropriate to start planning the funeral. The iconic computer application, launched in 1985 along with the first version of Windows, was designated by Microsoft on Monday as a “depreciated” program — one that “might be removed from future releases.” Microsoft had already started to ease Paint out the door earlier this year with the release of 3D Paint, which also gives users the ability to add 3D graphics to their creations. With the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update this fall, Ms Paint could be pushed further into oblivion by the Seattle-based. »

French film studio EuropaCorp is licking its wounds on Monday after its stock cratered more than 8 percent following the paltry North American box-office performance of its latest release, “”Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.” The sci-fi action movie cost $180 million to produce and starred heavy-hitters like Rihanna, Clive Owen and Ethan Hawke — as well as Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne — but only pulled in an uninspiring $17 million at the North American box office this weekend. EuropaCorp took a beating from the performance, with its shares falling to €3.54 (about $4.12) from an opening of »

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” remembered former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Monday, with co-host Mika Brzezinski saying, “He was put in a bad position since day one.” Former Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Spicer — who resigned his position on Friday after the appointment of Anthony Scaramucci as Communications Director — was put in a “terrible” position from the very first day because he was asked to make “false claims” that were “easily” disproved. ‘Game of Thrones': Why ‘The Prince That Was Promised’ Prophecy Mistranslation Is a Big Deal

(Note: This post contains spoilers for the July 23 episode of “Game of Thrones”, “Stormborn.”) For season after season of “Game of Thrones,” several people in Westeros have been worried about a certain prophecy about the Prince That Was Promised, the mythical figure who will lead the world in the fight to defeat the White Walkers. Melisandre (Carice van Houten), the Red Woman, spent most of “Game of Thrones” telling Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) he was the Prince That Was Promised. Obviously, that wasn’t true, since Stannis died. After that, Melisandre thought it might be Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), since she managed. »

‘Game of Thrones’ 101: How Many Stark Direwolves Are Left?

(Note: This post contains spoilers for “Game of Thrones.”) Way back in the first episode of “Game of Thrones,” the Stark family came across a direwolf mother that had been killed by a stag. The mom didn’t make it, but the puppies survived. With one direwolf for each of the six Stark children, they all became pets, forming some pretty intense bonds with the young Starks. All those direwolves turned out to be faithful, sometimes viciously protective companions to the Stark kids. But as “Game of Thrones” has worn on and the bodies have piled up, the direwolves haven’t always survived. »
